Santa Clara County Fairgrounds
In support of the County’s efforts to address the Coronavirus crisis, all other activities at the Fairgrounds have been suspended until further notice. Events previously scheduled through May 2020 have all been either cancelled or postponed.
On March 30, 2017, the County of Santa Clara opened responses to its Request for Proposals for the development of the 150-acre Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.
Responses to the Request for Proposals included the following:
- Silicon Valley Curling Center
- Public Market @ The Faire
- El Mercado Popular: Farmer’s Market
- Cambrian Go-carts
- 408 MX
A short summary of the responses is available here and via the "Download Files" link located on the right-hand side of this page. That summary will be presented to the Board of Supervisors at its meeting of April 11, 2017. Following analysis by Administration in consultation with the County’s consultants, a full report to the Board will take place at a future meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) at its regular meeting on December 13, 2016, following multiple community and Board meetings to keep the public informed. This Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop all or some portion of the 150 acre Santa Clara County Fairgrounds to help meet the Board’s goal for the Fairgrounds is the second stage in a competitive process from which one or more business operators/investors may be selected to enter into negotiations for the development and use of some or all of the Fairgrounds, while continuing to meet the needs for the annual County Fair and other community events.
